Cleveland Released 1.5 Million Balloons As a Publicity Stunt, But It Turned In To a NIGHTMARE
Cleveland Ohio released 1.5 millions balloons over the city in 1986
They thought it would generate some good publicity for the city
It was a cool and surreal sight
A storm came from the great lakes and pushed the balloons back to the ground
2 people on the great lakes ended up drowning bc of the storm and the balloons
The coast guard couldn't fly out to find them and if they did they couldn't see them bc of the balloons
Ultimately, there ended up being many lawsuits and 2 tragic deaths....
